Clinical Protocol

7-Day Kidney Filtration Support Plan

A kidney-friendly diet to support Estimated Glomerular Filtration Rate (eGFR). Focuses on reducing renal workload.

Protocol Objectives
Plant-Based Protein

Plant proteins create less nitrogenous waste than animal proteins, easing the filtration burden on kidneys.

Sodium Restriction

High salt increases blood pressure within the kidney (glomerular pressure). Limit to <2000mg.

Manage Potassium

Only restrict fruits/veggies if potassium is high on labs. Otherwise, they are beneficial.

Hydration

Drink enough to keep urine pale, but don't over-hydrate if you have fluid retention.

Protein

For reduced eGFR, moderate protein (0.6-0.8g per kg body weight) is often recommended to preserve function.
