Clinical Protocol

7-Day Lipoprotein(a) Management Plan

A targeted strategy for the genetically determined Lp(a) marker, focusing on inflammation reduction, Niacin, and saturated fat control.

Protocol Objectives
Genetic Reality

Lp(a) is 90% genetic and resistant to diet. The goal is to neutralize its *harm* by lowering general inflammation and LDL-C, so Lp(a) has less plaque to stick to.

Saturated Fat Control

Some evidence suggests high saturated fat intake increases Lp(a). Replace butter/fatty meat with olive oil/fish.

Niacin (B3) Foods

Niacin is one of the few agents that lowers Lp(a). Include tuna, chicken breast, mushrooms, and green peas.

Flaxseed

Regular flaxseed consumption has shown modest reductions in Lp(a) in some clinical trials.

CoQ10 Awareness

If you are on statins to lower LDL because of high Lp(a), ensure you eat CoQ10 rich foods (heart, fish, chicken) or supplement to prevent muscle aches.

Aspirin?

Lp(a) is pro-thrombotic (clotting). Discuss with your doctor if dietary salicylates (spices, berries) or baby aspirin are appropriate.
